Yeosu Dongdongbuk Festival

The Yeosu Dongdongbuk Festival was created to clearly define the regional and cultural identity of the Goryeo era song "Dongdong" and to widely promote General Yu Tak, a hidden historical figure of Yeosu. The main events of the festival include a street drum parade, an opening ceremony, performances by invited main artists, a drum competition, special busker performances, citizen fringe performances, master classes with citizens, and various other hands-on activities. The experiential activities are open to a wide range of participants, from children to the elderly; among them, the drum parade, where citizens march through the streets in direct participation, is gaining popularity among the public with an increasing number of diverse participants each year. In addition to the experiential events, a diverse range of performance programs (EDM shows, guest singer performances, drum performances, etc.) are prepared to provide citizens with plenty to see.
