Gunsan Time Travel Festival

The Gunsan Time Travel Festival is Gunsan's representative festival, set against the backdrop of modern Gunsan—which preserves the history of the people's resistance and arduous lives during the Japanese colonial period—allowing visitors to traverse the city's past, present, and future to directly experience the stories and culture of various eras. This year, the festival presents an even richer array of programs where citizens and tourists can become the protagonists, participating and enjoying themselves. Participatory content designed to allow visitors to experience the history of modern Gunsan and the independence movement in an easy and fun way is prepared, including the "Global Modern Flash Mob" created by citizens, "Let's All Shout 3·5 Manse" (recreating the shouts of independence filling the streets), and the "Gunsan Port Night Wharf Contest" where visitors can showcase their talents and enthusiasm, as well as the "1919 Taegeukgi Raising Operation," "Showdown! Defend the Declaration of Independence," and "Become an Independence Fighter." Additionally, "The Time Traveler's Secret Passport," "Gathering Time," and "Take This! Mission and experience programs to enjoy while roaming the festival grounds, such as the "Mission Payphone," as well as modern costume experiences, citizen-planned programs, a flea market, food stalls, and performances, will take place throughout the venue. Through diverse content that blends generational memories with new enjoyment, the festival is designed to allow people of all ages to naturally encounter Gunsan's history and culture and enjoy their own special journey through time.
