Seongju Gayasan Golden Fields Grasshopper Festival

The "Seongju Gayasan Golden Fields Grasshopper Festival," Seongju County's representative autumn festival, is a resident-led, eco-friendly rural experience festival set against the backdrop of the pristine nature of Gayasan Mountain and the Daegacheon River, as well as the golden fields. The festival features rural experience programs such as grasshopper catching, grasshopper observation, sweet potato digging, apple fishing, and catfish catching, as well as an autumn sports day where families of all ages—from children to seniors—can participate together in activities like balloon popping, shuttlecock kicking, group jump rope, and rubber shoe archery. Additionally, experiential programs such as making "one-heart" rice cakes, stamping sliced rice cakes, a stamp tour, capsule treasure hunt, golden fields treasure hunt, a traditional games area, and a wooden playground are held. Performances including cotton candy shows, a circus challenge, and a stilt walker balloon show take place, while the enjoyment of the festival is further enhanced by various sights and foods, such as free livestock product tastings, sales and promotion of local agricultural specialties, and the operation of restaurants and food trucks.
