The 4th Chilgok Transmedia Festival

The 4th Chilgok Transmedia Festival is a cultural and artistic festival held in the Waegwan-eup area of Chilgok-gun. It is designed to allow visitors to experience local spaces and cultural resources in new ways by combining them with diverse media content. This year, themed around the friendship between poet Ku Sang and painter Lee Jung-seop, the festival expands upon the lives and artistic worlds of these two artists through content encompassing literature, fine arts, media, and performance. Notably, moving away from the traditional approach of concentrating content in a single venue, the festival operates as a "space-moving" event where visitors physically move through everyday spaces throughout Waegwan-eup to experience the programs. Participants will sequentially encounter exhibitions, media content, hands-on experiences, and performance programs as they follow designated routes and spaces. The festival is structured to connect the characteristics of each space with the content to form a unified festival experience. Through this approach, the festival aims to transform everyday local spaces into venues for experiencing culture and art, and to reinterpret the region's cultural resources and stories through new content. Furthermore, the festival seeks to promote the value of literature and fine arts through the relationship and works of the two artists, Ku Sang and Lee Jung-seop, and to provide local residents and visitors with the opportunity to experience culture and art by walking through the spaces of Waegwan.
